Melbourne’s Hellenic Museum welcomes new face in double leadership role

Sarah Craig has just been appointed CEO and Head of Curation at the Hellenic Museum in Melbourne.

The development comes amidst a significant turning point for the organisation, reimagining its future in a post COVID-19 environment.

An integral member of the team since 2014 and the museum’s curator since 2015, Ms Craig will be leading the strategic planning and implementation a new vision for the museum.

Chairman of the Hellenic Museum, Harry Stamoulis, welcomed Ms Craig’s appointment commending her leadership and extending warm congratulations on behalf of the Board and the museum’s team.

“Sarah’s talent and intimate knowledge of the Hellenic Museum allows her to move flexibly and effectively towards a new and exciting chapter at the Museum,” Mr Stamoulis said.
In her tenure so far, Ms Craig has been instrumental in the commissioning of new works including Bill Henson’s Oneiroi and has contributed in the forging of the partnership with The Benaki Museum.

The newly appointed CEO and Head of Curation stated “delighted” to evolve her leadership role at the Hellenic Museum.

“I am stepping into this position brimming with creativity and energised to lead the strategic vision of the Museum as we prepare for reopening and beyond,” Ms Craig said.
