We love a good caper, and a heist caper is even better. When self-made businesswoman Roxanne Waters’ $16 million necklace goes missing, the ensuing police investigation exposes cracks in the sparkling façade of Eastern Sydney. With the stakes higher than ever, the masterminds can either turn on each other, or discover a friendship worth more than any diamond. With a brilliant cast including Miranda Otto, Susie Porter, Aina Dumlao, Michelle Vergara Moore, Peter O’Brien, Matt Day and Toby Leonard Moore, this show will be the first on Australian television with Filipino characters in lead roles. We cannot wait for the hijinks.

Live streaming: Australia’s Biggest Singalong!
Two of our favourite women, Julia Zemiro and Miranda Tapsell, are hosting Australia’s biggest singalong! Streaming live from Sydney Town Hall on Saturday 5 June, special guest singers, including Dami Im, Mitch Tambo and Mark Seymour, will join in the fun, alongside community choirs. Choirmaster Astrid Jorgensen will guide us in singing along to Hunters and Collectors’ classic, ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’ among other tunes. We are beyond excited!
Who Do You Think You Are?
In the twelfth season of this popular genealogy series, Celia Pacquola, Malcolm Turnbull, Denise Drysdale, Jeff Fatt, Uncle Jack Charles, Grant Denyer, Chris Bath and Natalie Bassingthwaighte will climb their family trees and uncover secrets and stories about their ancestors that will help them understand their place in the world.
Season 12 of Who Do You Think You Are? premieres exclusively on SBS and airing weekly at 7.30pm from Tuesday 8 June. The series is also streaming with , , and subtitles.
Halt and Catch Fire
as ‘the best show that nobody watched’ to be ‘filed next to Mad Men’, Halt and Catch Fire takes us to 1980s Texas at the dawn of the personal computing boom. Joe, Gordon and Cameron are a visionary, a computer engineer and a prodigy respectively whose innovations threaten the corporate behemoths of the time. Greed and ego won’t be the only challenges to their undertaking as they walk down risky but enticing new paths. Also featuring green type on black computer screens and a ripper soundtrack, add this to your watchlist.
Guilt
Max is wealthy and likes to show it. His brother Jake scrapes a living running a record shop. When they accidentally run over and kill an old man driving home one night, they cover their tracks instead of coming forward. Neighbours’ suspicions about the man’s death lead to the escalation of the brothers’ guilt as their lives begin to unravel. A BBC Scotland production, this contemporary crime thriller is imbued with black humour and plot twists that keep us guessing how it’s all going to pan out.
Red Light
Belgium turns out some very good drama. We refer you to whose star, Maaike Neuville, is also a lead in brand new series, Red Light, alongside Halina Reijn and Game of Thrones’ Carice van Houten. The three women’s lives intersect when a man with whom they have very different relationships goes missing – Sylvia is a prostitute, his wife Esther is a well-known opera soprano who was unaware of his dalliances in the Red Light District, and Evi is the cop investigating. This intelligent, edgy drama, which travels between Antwerp and Amsterdam’s underworlds, is in Flemish.
Couples Therapy
Now in its second season, this popular documentary series, which lets us in on couples’ therapy sessions, is surprisingly devoid of voyeurism. Rather, it lends itself to offering help and support by proxy. Season 2 tracks how couples from are faring, as well as introduces us to new couples, all guided by distinguished clinical psychologist, Dr Orna Guralnik.
Season 2 of Couples Therapy premieres exclusively in Australia and airs weekly on SBS VICELAND at 9.25pm from Tuesday 15 June.
The Act
Starring Patricia Arquette and Chloe Sevigny, this award-winning drama series proves yet again that fact is stranger than fiction. Based on a shocking 2015 crime, it enacts what happens when daughter Gypsy attempts to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Gypsy’s quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, which ultimately leads to murder. While this is definitely one for true crime lovers, as Variety says, while The Act’s ‘punch comes from the fact that some version of it really happened [it] would be compelling regardless’.

Welcome to Sweden
From executive producer Amy Poehler, this refreshing sitcom was created and written by a team including its two leads, Greg Poehler (Amy’s brother) and Josephine Bornebusch, who play Bruce and Emma. Based on Mr Poehler’s real-life move across the Atlantic for love, Bruce follows Emma back to her native Stockholm for a prestigious job. But as daily life kicks in, so too do clashes of cultures and families as Bruce struggles to find work and fit in. In , stars including Amy Poehler, Will Ferrell and Gene Simmons also pop up in this English/Swedish language delight.
Paris Police 1900
Showing a very different version of Belle Époque Paris, we enter the city upon the sudden death of President Félix Faure, and rising anarchy amid the prominence of the far right and anti-Semitism. Called out of retirement to restore order, the police chief will cross paths with a corrupt cop, an ambitious young detective and a courtesan enlisted as a spy. Created by comic book artist Fabien Nury, this is a violent, gritty and gripping drama.
Wonderland
Jérémy is 33 and lives a rather lonely life in Paris, never quite feeling as though he belongs. But through the Wonderland bar, he finds a way to travel back to 1960s Biarritz to meet Alice, a woman he falls in love with the instant he sees a photograph of her on the wall of the bar. In his travels back in time, the more he discovers about Alice, the more mystery he finds, changing their lives forever. Titled Romance in its French release, Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) stars as Alice in this six-part series.
In Therapy
After the 2015 terrorist attack in Paris, psychotherapist Philippe Dayan is inundated with new clients. Between treating a traumatised cop and surgeon, a teenager with a personality disorder and a young couple whose child is in crisis, Philippe reconnects with his former therapist Esther for help and support in navigating his own emotional earthquake. A huge success in France, this series marks the TV debut of The Intouchables co-directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. SBS viewers will recognise several cast members, including Mélanie Thierry () and Reda Kateb ().
In Therapy premieres exclusively in Australia from Thursday 24 June. Five episodes of this 35-part series will land each week from that date.
Bosch
Back for a seventh season, fans of this show won’t need any introduction to protagonist and hard-done-by detective, Harry Bosch. Just like the first, this season’s based on the book The Concrete Blonde as well as The Burning Room and sees Bosch and his partner Jerry Edgar undertake separate murder investigations involving street drugs and white-collar crime. We cannot wait to get stuck into this season, which is also the series’ last.
