Some spin-offs have only a very tenuous link with the shows that spawned them (Happy Days and Mork & Mindy, anyone?), but The Good Fight is not one of them. While you certainly don't have to have watched The Good Wife to understand what's going on in The Good Fight, it is very much a continuation of The Good Wife – at least, as far as some characters are concerned.
With several regular and recurring cast members making the jump to the new show, fans of The Good Wife will feel right at home with the new series. Among the lengthy list of returning characters are:
Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski)
She’s still one of the most powerful and well respected women in the Chicago legal profession, but the senior partner is preparing to retire and enjoy the fruits of her labour. Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole)
