A gripping thriller which twists and turns at a frenetic pace through the streets of Sydney, Dead Lucky, SBS’s new four-part crime drama, begins Wednesday July 25, 9.30pm on SBS.
Emmy™ and Oscar nominated Australian actress Rachel Griffiths (Muriel’s Wedding, Six Feet Under, Brothers & Sisters, Hilary and Jackie) stars as stubborn but brilliant Detective Grace Gibbs, obsessed with avenging the murder of her junior officer.

Chinese-born New Zealand actor Yoson An, who was recently cast as the romantic lead in Disney’s live-action Mulan, co-stars as Charlie Fung, a new trainee detective who blames his supervising officer Grace for the death of his best friend.

After arriving in Sydney with the promises of an idyllic new life in the seductive harbour city, these students begin to struggle under the weight of exploitation and cultural pressures from home, and find themselves in dangerous circumstances as they try to keep their dreams alive.

When a violet fugitive holds up the convenience store, Grace and Charlie are called in to investigate, setting off chain of events with devastating consequences.

The stellar line up of Australian actors in Dead Lucky includes Matt Nable (Jasper Jones, Barracuda), Justine Clarke (Hoges, Red Dog: True Blue),  Simon Burke (Devil’s Playground), Brooke Satchwell (Jack Irish, Wonderland), Ian Meadows (The Wrong Girl, The Moodys) and Rhys Muldoon (Fighting Season, House Husbands).
