All seven seasons of New Girl are streaming right now, and if there’s ever been a time to lean into a show that is lighthearted, fun and – yes, adorkable – it’s now.
The X-Files
Okay, there are nine seasons of The X-Files streaming online at the moment. Would I be able to get through all of them in two weeks? I’d like to think so, but it would be a stretch. Still, nothing wrong with continuing a TV binge after you’re done with isolation, right?
The Young Pope / The New Pope
Jude Law is a hot pope. Honestly, that should be enough to sell you on it, but just in case, I’ll add that John Malkovich is in the second season.

Shrill
Based on Lindy West’s hit book, Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman, this comedy follows Annie Easton (Aidy Bryant, Saturday Night Live) as she attempts to better her life without having to change her body. If you need a self-esteem booster, Shrill will remind you that you’re just as good and worthy as anyone else, even if you can’t leave the house right now.
You’re the Worst
If dark humour and cynicism is what gets you through tough times, look no further than You’re the Worst. With all five seasons streaming, now’s the perfect time to dive in, or kick off a rewatch, as Gretchen and Jimmy tackle fear, heartbreak, romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, Sunday Funday and friendship.
Back To Life
Wondering what life will be like when you can finally leave the house again? Back To Life will offer some perspective. A dark comedy, Daisy Haggard (from TV’s Episodes) stars as Miri Matteson, who’s trying to fit back into her old life in a small coastal town after spending the past 18 years in prison.
The Family Law
In the mood for something homegrown? Look no further than our Aussie comedy The Family Law, based on Benjamin Law’s bestselling novel. There are rules, and then there’s the Laws, and there’s never been a better time to follow them.
The Twelve
If you’re like me and you’ve watched every crime series on [redacted] and [redacted], it’s time to branch out! The Twelve is a tense, Flemish crime drama about the 12 jurors on a controversial murder case. While attempting to decide on the guilt or innocence of respected headmistress Frie Palmers – who stands accused of two murders – the jurors also have to face questions about their own lives and secrets.
Broadchurch
Another crime series you can settle into is Broadchurch. David Tennant and Academy Award-winner Olivia Colman play detectives called to investigate the death of 11-year-old Danny Latimer, after his body is found on the beach. What they discover will change the small Dorset community forever.
Dublin Murders
Based on the bestselling Tana French novels 'In the Woods' and 'The Likeness', Dublin Murders is a pyschological thriller that follows detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox as they investigate the murder of a young girl on the outskirts of – you guessed it – Dublin, Ireland.
The Hunting
Another homegrown series, The Hunting follows four teenagers, their teachers and families after a nude teen photo scandal rocks the school. Starring Asher Keddie and Richard Roxburgh, The Hunting tackles themes of misogyny, online exploitation, sexuality and sexualisation.
