Actor Timothée Chalamet has thrown his weight behind a Call Me By Your Name sequel - and we're peachy keen!

The young star, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance as 17-year-old Elio, said he and costar Armie Hammer have remained close since wrapping on the critically acclaimed film.

“I was just on the phone with Armie thirty minutes ago,” Chalamet, 22, said during an interview about his new film Beautiful Boy.
Hammer had just penned a tribute to Chalamet for Variety.

“I was getting emotional," Chalamet said. "It was really one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, especially coming from him.”

On the subject of a Call Me by Your Name sequel, Chalamet said: “I don’t see any world where it doesn’t happen.”

He continued: “I think André (author) is comfortable with a sequel being made. I know Luca (director) really wants it. And I know Armie and I are 1000  per cent in.”

“I think it’ll be a couple of years later,” he added.

“And I think that’s cool - to take advantage of the Boyhood style of storytelling. That isn’t done all the time.”
