Actor Don Cheadle earned praise on social media over the weekend, using his role as host of Saturday Night Live to stand in solidarity with members of the trans community.

Introducing the show's musical guest, Gary Clark Jr., the House of Lies star wore a black T-shirt which read "Protect Trans Kids". He later changed into a Russian hockey jersey which had Trump's name and the number 45 on the back.

He added: "Subtle, Masterful yet Effective."
The Human Rights Campaign also tweeted their support.
