London's gay penguins are joining in the World Pride celebrations

London Zoo's resident gay penguins, Ronnie and Reggie, are getting into the World Pride spirit thanks to some very accommodating zookeepers.

The pair, who adopted an abandoned chick back in 2015, have had their living space decorated with a large banner reading "some penguins are gay, get over it" - an homage to Stonewall's Get Over It campaign on the

Ronnie and Reggie, who have been inseparable since 2014, aren't the only gay couple at London Zoo - they also share a beach with gay couples Nadja and Zimmer as well as Dev and Martin.
According to , the London Zoo's Pride celebrations will run over three days to coincide with the facility's 'Zoo Nights' - and over 18s initiative aimed at educating members of the public about homosexuality within the animal kingdom.

"We loved Stonewall's campaign and wanted to remind people that same-sex relationships happen across the animal kingdom - even here in our penguin colony at ZSL London Zoo," London Zoo .

"Zoo Nights Pride Takeover is a great opportunity to celebrate diversity while learning about wildlife."
