Just when you thought you couldn't possibly handle another episode of RuPaul's Drag Race, the popular reality TV franchise has announced that it's branching out even further.

More specifically - to Canada.

With local incarnations of the show already produced in Thailand and the UK (which is due to premiere on the BBC later this year), RuPaul has shared that a Canadian version of the show is also in the works - with a whole new cast of judges. According to a , the series will be produced by OUTtv, World of Wonder, Crave, and Blue Ant Studios.

"I am proud to announce that the Drag Race family is expanding as Crave is about to begin production on Drag Race Canada,” RuPaul said of the news.
“The panel and judges will be from the Great White North, representing Canada’s very best. This new franchise has my whole-hearted blessing. Good luck… and don’t puck it up!”

Ice-hockey puns aside, Drag Race Canada will be made up of of 10 one-hour episodes and air on Crave in Canada and on WOW Presents Plus internationally.

It won't, however, involve RuPaul or Michelle Visage.

“Canadian drag is world class and we could not be more excited to bring these artists and their stories to Crave,” said Blue Ant Studios’ Sam Sniderman.

“We are thrilled to be working with WOW on this legendary and game-changing global format.”

While the news is being welcomed by die-hard fans of the show, the idea of watching Drag Race Season 12, Drag Race All Stars 5, Drag Race UK AND Drag Race Canada all in one year is a touch exhausting.

However, could it mean that Australian audiences are going to get our own version of the show?

With local productions of international reality TV shows like Survivor, The Amazing Race, Master Chef, Big Brother, The X Factor and The Voice, it's not too much of a stretch.
