Graham Arnold's side have moved from 35th to 32nd with recent victories over China (3-0) and Vietnam (1-0) in FIFA World Cup qualifying no doubt the reason.

Marking a new decade-best ranking since being placed 23rd in 2011, it's clear the side are going from strength-to-strength as they continue preparations for next year's World Cup in Qatar.
The Socceroos best ever ranking was 14th in 2009, after a great showing at the 2006 World Cup with the late Pim Verbeek as head coach.

The next stop on the Socceroos Road to Qatar comes next month when they take on Oman on October 7 before squaring off against Japan on October 12.
