1. Throwdown VIII

These fierce cross-town rivals are set to face off in a top-four clash that has massive playoff implication for both ball clubs.

2. Fumbling Phoenix

South East Melbourne have lost 4 of their last 5 games and are coming off really flat performance last week in a loss to Brisbane.

That run of poor recent form has seen the Phoenix drop to fourth spot, with Illawarra breathing right down their necks in fifth.

To make matters worse, the Phoenix are riddled with injury problems. Ryan Broekhoff is expected to miss a couple of weeks with a back injury and sharpshooter Cam Gliddon is also rumoured to have hurt himself at training this week.

3. Sunshine stoush

The Bullets, who have announced couch Andrej Lemanis will leave at season's end, are desperate for a win to stay in the race for the playoffs but standing in their way are their hard-working cross-state rivals.

Key matchup: Machado v Sobey

Last time these two faced off Sobey had 30pts and 4ast and Machado had 26pts and 7ast.

Sydney Kings v Adelaide 36ers

4. Keeping the dream alive

This is a big clash between two teams right in the thick of the race to the playoffs. For Adelaide, a loss here will be a near-fatal blow to their finals chances.

Perth Wildcats v NZ Breakers

Sunday 17:00 AEDT tip-off - SBS Viceland and SBS On Demand

5. Will Magnay debut

The Perth Wildcats pulled off a massive coup this week when they signed former Brisbane Bullets big man Will Magnay for the rest of this season.
