National Indigenous Television (NITV) are proud to announce the return of their ground-breaking sports programs Yokayi Footy and Over the Black Dot in 2021.

In partnership with the AFL, Yokayi Footy will return on Wednesday, 17 March at 8.00pm.

The 2021 season of Yokayi Footy will welcome a new face, with AFL enthusiast and fitness expert Megan Waters joining fellow young media star Tony Armstrong as host, together with former triple premiership Brisbane Lions and Australian Indigenous Team of the Century player Darryl White. Audiences can also look forward to Andrew Krakouer joining the program as a regular panelist.

While former co-host Bianca Hunt is handing over the reins this season, keep an eye out for the talented presenter who will be making some guest appearances on Yokayi Footy in 2021, as well as other special event NITV programming.

Yokayi Footy will continue to cover everything Australians love about AFL through bold conversation, entertainment and a youthful lens. In the 2021 season, audiences can look forward to more community stories, guest spots with prominent Indigenous players and some hard-hitting monologues.

Over the Black Dot, NITV’s flagship NRL panel show, will also return to screens on Wednesday 17 March, at 8.35pm, with more yarns and rugby analysis alongside the best Aboriginal players in the League.

The Dot’s legendary line-up of presenters are back, with senior journalist Jodan Perry, dual international rugby player Timana Tahu, NRL premiership winner George Rose and dual international athlete Bo de la Cruz returning to the helm.

Each week, the panel will be joined by special guests to review and analyse each round of the NRL.

NITV’s Head of Sport, Mark Ella, said that after a tumultuous year for sport in 2020, he's looking forward to welcoming the channel's flagship AFL and NRL shows back in 2021.

“Welcoming Megan to our Yokayi Footy family is a great way to start the season, and we’re so looking forward to introducing her to our audience. We’re also thrilled to be working closely with the AFL once again, continuing the positive impact the two organisations can make together," he said.

“And of course, who could forget about the Dot – our incredible panel are back again, and I personally can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.”
