The Kid LAROI nominated for top GRAMMY Award

The Waterloo wonder has capped an incredible year of broken records and No.1 hits with a GRAMMY nomination.

News outlets are running out of superlatives to describe the year that The Kid LAROI has enjoyed. 

Fans and observers alike have watch in awe as he took the top gong at the Indigenous music awards, was the first ever First Nations artist to have the No.1 Billboard spot, and enjoyed the top chart position for his collaboration with Justin Bieber.

But his latest headline may confound even the most gushing of predictions, as he goes head to head with the world's top performers for the GRAMMY's 2022 Best New Artist of the Year award. 

LAROI, born Charlton Howard, has been nominated alongside Arlo Parks, Olivia Rodrigo and Saweetie for the award, one of the prestigious organisation's top gongs. 

It comes after a stellar year of broken records, new releases, No.1 hits and successful award nominations. 

He also makes an appearance on the list as one of the guest artists on Justin Bieber's album "Justice", nominated for Album of the Year. 

The Gamilaraay teenager recently announced that he would be taking a break from public appearances, though assured fans that new material would be appearing soon. 

He is also due to begin a world tour in March next year, including dates in Australia.
