It's a highly anticipated part of every Knockout, and now the location for next year's comp has been confirmed.
As 2023 victors, Walgett Aboriginal Connection (WAC) will host teams from around the state at 2024's event, announcing on Thursday that the game will be returning to Bathurst.
Legendary prop and WAC player George Rose made the announcement on Thursday from Mount Panorama.
"It's an absolutely honour to be here today.
"The 2024 Koori Knockout will be held right here in Bathurst from October 4-7th!" he told the assembled crowd.
"This is the largest rugby league knockout in the southern hemisphere, the largest Indigenous sporting event of the year.
"Its a celebration of family, culture and rugby league talent."
It's been 13 years since Walgett last hosted the annual event, and it's clear locals are excited by the Knockout's return.
A Welcome to Country on Wiradjuri land, and a heartwarming performance by local children, preceded an introduction by host Wiradjuri Ngunnawal man Luke Carroll.
150 teams are expected to attend, while 30,000 spectators turned up to this year's event in Tuggerah. A similar number is expected for the Bathurst showing.
Widely considered a training ground and showcase for future NRL stars, the comp is usually attended by some of the league's best current and former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players.
