Twitter Australia has revealed the ten most-tweeted emojis this election day.
Topping the list is the hot dog emoji, which makes reference to the iconic democracy sausages served at polling booths around the country. Following the hot dog in second place, is the Australian flag emoji.
"We're seeing more sausages, dogs since dogs are being brought to polling booths, and wheelchairs which (is) interesting because of the importance of wheelchair access at voting centres," said Jonathan Harley, Director of Media and Partnerships for Twitter Australia.
Twitter Australia's election news account, #ausvotes @govAU, also shared the ten most-tweeted emoji this election season, however this list included data from May 8 to today.
#Ausvotes also shared emojis most associated with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, and Greens leader Richard Di Natale.
The data was tabulated by Netbase, an API partner of Twitter Australia.
