Ready to dive into day 10 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games?

Australians will be hoping for more Olympic success on day 10 as they compete in athletics, water polo, canoeing, equestrian and sport climbing.

Day 10 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games promises to he historic for Australia even before the action gets under way.

Two-time medallist Melissa Wu will become the first Australian diver to compete in five Olympic Games.

With the swimming finals out of the way on day nine, the athletics action will continue to ramp up.

As well as athletics and diving, there will be plenty worth staying up late or getting up early to watch on day 10.

Athletics

In the triathlon mixed relay Luke Willian, Natalie van Coevorden, Matt Hauser and Sophie Linn are an outside chance of sneaking a medal.

Australians can also see discus thrower Matthew Denny and pole vaulter Nina Kennedy in action on day 10.

Torrie Lewis will get a second chance to qualify for the women’s 200m in the repechage round, which has been added into track and field for the first time in Paris.

The round allows those who do not qualify for the semifinals at the first attempt to have one more chance to be added to the final list of qualified athletes.

Also worth a watch could be Team USA's Noah Lyles, who on Sunday won gold for his 100m sprint, will be back on the track for the 200m sprint.

Team sports

Australian teams will take on Japanese teams in two sports.

The men’s water-polo team will face the country in the pool while the men's table tennis team will also face Japan.

Australia's women’s hockey team will meet China in a quarter final game.

The Hockeyroos made the quarter-finals after topping Group B and will be hoping to progress even further for the first time since winning gold in at the Sydney Games in 2000.

On the water

After beating out her gold medallist sister (Jessica) in the heats, Noemie Fox will compete in the quarterfinal of the women’s kayak cross.

The men's kayak-cross will also see Tim Anderson and Tristan Carter competing in the quarter-finals, while Olympic champion Matt Wearn is looking to maintain his lead in he men's dinghy.

Newcomers and veterans

At the age of 16 Wu represented Australia at her first Olympics in Beijing, this is her fifth Olympics and viewers can catch her lining up in the 10m platform diving.

Campbell Harrison who is a sport climber, will make his Olympic debut in the men's boulder and lead climbing competition on day 10.

Riders on show

Cyclists Kelland O'Brien, Sam Welsford, Conor Leahy, and Oliver Bleddyn will fly the flag for Australia in the men's team pursuit.

In equestrian, Hilary Scott, Thaisa Erwin and Edwina Tops-Alexander will get their time to shine in the individual showjumping.
