Publication of hacked Pippa pics banned

A UK judge has banned publication of stolen photographs of Pippa Middleton after allegations that 3000 personal images were hacked.

A British judge has banned publication of stolen photographs of Pippa Middleton after allegations that 3000 personal images were taken in a hacking attack on her iCloud account.

Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, went to court on Wednesday against the "person or persons unknown" responsible.

The Sun newspaper said on Saturday it was contacted by a purported hacker seeking at least STG50,000 ($A84,800) for photos that included images of sister Kate with her children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, and naked images of Middleton's fiance, James Matthews.

Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Saturday on suspicion of offenses under the Computer Misuse Act. He was later released on bail pending further inquiries.

Middleton's lawyer, Adam Wolanski, said the alleged theft had caused Middleton "considerable distress."

"The evidence points towards it having been a flagrant and dishonest act which has caused the claimant some considerable distress," said Wolanski.

Neither Middleton nor Matthews were in court.

Website designer Nathan Wyatt, 35, of Wellingborough, in the county of Northamptonshire, has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of a Computer Misuse Act offence in connection with the case.

He has been ordered to return to a south London police station in November.
