Aust leaders to visit Israel, Palestinian territories

Trade Minister Steve Ciobo will visit Israel and the Palestinian territories to meet with leaders and discuss economic opportunities.

Mr Ciobo will lead the Australian delegation to the Australia Israel UK leadership dialogue this weekend, holding bilateral meetings with senior Israeli ministers to expand trade and economic links.

He will also visit the Palestinian territories to meet with Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah to discuss the economic development of Palestine and opportunities for bilateral economic links.

Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will also attend, accompanied by his wife Chloe and opposition defence spokesman Richard Marles.

He will also visit the Palestinian city of Ramallah.
