British sailing star Sir Ben Ainslie clinched his second straight hometown America's Cup World Series victory with a win and two second-place finishes in Sunday's three races.

Ainslie's Land Rover BAR team finished with 82 points, one ahead of his former employer, two-time defending America's Cup champion Oracle Team USA.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge presented the trophy to Ainslie, who was knighted following the London Olympics, when he won his fourth straight gold medal and fifth games medal overall.

"I think it's been a brilliant weekend," Ainslie said.

"For us to race in Portsmouth, in front of our home crowd with the weather playing its part and two cracking days of racing, as a home team to win in front of our home crowd is the best thing we could do."
