Crenshanda Williams, 43, has been charged by police for allegedly hanging up on people ringing US’ emergency 911 help line, local media has .

Ms Williams, who was charged with interference with an emergency phone call, had been employed as a telephone operator with the Houston Emergency Center in Texas, the US, since July 2014.

According to court documents, supervisors found that Ms Williams had disconnected thousands of calls between October 2015 and March 2016 including calls reporting homicide, robbery and speeding vehicles.

A March 2016 recording captures Ms Williams answering a call with: “Houston 911, do you need medical, police or fire?”

The caller, who is a security officer, tries to report a drag racing incident: “This is Officer Molten. I’m driving on 45 South right now and I am at...”  Ms Williams then disconnects the line and is then heard stating: “Ain’t nobody got time for this. For Real.”

That same month, Ms Williams answers another call: “Houston 911, do you need medical, police or fire?”

A man responds: “This is a robbery” to which Ms Williams audibly sighs and hangs up.

When asked why she hung up on the calls, she reportedly explained that she “did not want to talk to anyone at that time”.
