Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr in Australia

Muslims are celebrating the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting with prayers in large gatherings and festivities taking place in various cities.

Eid al-Fitr is being celebrated in Australia by Muslims offering special prayers.

Large gatherings at the mosques in various cities are hosting the special prayers marking the end of the month of fasting, Ramadan.

Eid is a special occasion for Muslims and is celebrated in many parts of the world.

Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries celebrated Eid on Tuesday.

In his message to the Muslims in Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison has wished a joyous and blessed Eid al-Fitr.

Eid festivities started in Australia with several events taking place at various cities.

In Sydney, Chand Raat Eid Festival was held in which people from different communities enjoyed the food and entertainment activities.

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, Babar Amin has said that Eid-ul-Fitr is a unique occasion as it provides us an opportunity for the promotion of our religious and cultural values in this multicultural and diverse society.

“On this auspicious occasion, let us share a message of love, unity and brotherhood. While celebrating the festivities of Eid we must not forget our brothers and sisters who are disadvantaged, deprived and suffering particularly in Pakistan. We can bring smiles to their faces through our sentiments of love and solidarity.”

Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney, Abdul Majid Yousfani said that Eid is not only a moment of festivity and celebration for all Muslims but also to thank Allah.

“While celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in Australia, I urge upon you to pray for the progress of our homeland and recommend you to cooperate and collaborate amongst each other for improving the image of Pakistan.”
