Bhangra is fusion of music and dance which originated from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan.

Traditionally, Bhangra dancing is held to celebrate weddings and other major events, and performers typically celebrated the spring harvest with Bhangra as well.

In its earliest form it was a celebratory folk dance which welcomed the coming of spring, or Vaisakhi, as it is known.

In the past 50 years Bhangra has evolved and integrated into various styles of music and dance such as hip hop, disco, reggae and techno.

Bhangra is now dominating the club scene internationally and has worldwide potential to make its long-lasting impression into the fitness world in the form of high-pitched aerobic dance.
