A Melbourne man has been accused of keeping a woman as a slave for seven weeks.
31-year-old Prabhdeep Singh from Pakenham, south-east of Melbourne has appeared in Melbourne Magistrate’s court on Thursday.
He has also been accused of possessing child pornography and possessing an illegal anabolic steroid, AAP reports.
Police allege Singh intentionally exercised ownership over a slave for seven weeks in August and October 2015 in Melbourne.
The alleged victim has been allowed to give evidence via a recording during the pre-trial committal hearing.
His brother Harmandeep Singh also appeared in Melbourne Magistrate's Court on one count of knowingly possessing child pornography.
Magistrate Duncan Reynolds extended the men’s bail and they have been ordered to appear in court on February 19 for a committal hearing.
