An Indian Army brigade headquarters in Uri of Jammu & Kashmir came under attack on the morning of 18th September. Four armed attackers targeted the Indian troops sleeping in temporary tents. 17 soldiers died, mostly due to the fire caused by incendiary weapons used by the attackers. All four attackers were later killed by the Indian forces in an operation.
The Indian establishment blamed Pakistan-based outfits for the attack, claiming the items found on the attackers had “Pakistani markings”. Pakistan denied the allegation.
Now, an Indian website has claimed that the India Army sent its elite Para commandos across the Line of Control to hit the alleged camps where militants were bring trained.

has reported 18-20 soldiers from Indian Army’s elite 2 Para were flown in a military helicopter to carry out an operation across the LoC on the night of 20th September.
The website has claimed the information was confirmed by a “military source” and two other “independent sources”.
The report said Pakistan had put airspace restrictions on the night of the purported operation, declaring a no-flying zone and cancelling all flights to the northern cities, including Gilgit and Skardu which indicated that “the Indian special forces struck”.
There are no reports of any such operation in the Pakistani media so far. In the absence of any official confirmation or denial about the action by the Indian Army, later reported that "Army sources" had denied any cross-border raid.
The attack which was the biggest on the Indian Army in Kashmir valley since the beginning of armed insurgency there has led to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, just hours after the attack, said those responsible for the attack would be punished.
India’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Wednesday that the incident may need a “knee-jerk” reaction.
“I won’t go into the details of what India can do, but sometimes a knee-jerk reaction is required,” said Mr. Parrikar.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said while addressing the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that Pakistan wanted peace with India but that was only possible by resolving the Kashmir issue. He also claimed that India was committing atrocities on Kashmiris and he called for an investigation.
