7-year-old Deyaan Udani was visting India with his family when he died in a Mumbai hospital on Saturday after suffering from a brain clot. Despite the tragedy, Deeyan gave a new lease of life to four critically ill patients, three of whom are minors.

Deyaan's heart went to a two-and-a-half year old girl who was suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy.

Deyaan became the youngest donor when his heart, kidneys and liver were harvested after doctors at the Hinduja Hospital declared him brain dead on Saturday. Deeyan's parents willingly donated his organs as the 7 year old himself learnt about organ donation at his school and wanted to be listed for the cause.

On January 22, Deyaan complained of severe headache. He underwent a surgery at Hinduja Hospital.

Deeyan's mother Mili is also a listed organ donar. According to her, they decided to donate the organs because it was Deyaan's wish to do so.

"Recently, Deyaan and his sister were taught about organ donation in school and how one can be listed as an organ donor on the driving licence. The kids came home and asked us if we were listed," said Mili, adding that the children started to convince their father to get listed too. "At that time, Deyaan said that when he grows up, he would like to be an organ donor," she told Mumbai Mirror.

Deyaan's mother said: "Schools in India should also educate children about the noble cause of organ donation."
