A mum of Nepali background says she was in denial for some time when her daughter was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).


Melbourne-based Paru Sapkota says it was tough to accept that her child is on the spectrum, and nothing made sense to her.

In this Sixth episode of Mum Mane Ama, along with Paru Sapkota, Mira Yadav from Sydney shares her experience of waiting for her child's diagnosis and the frustration she felt because of the long waiting time.

Dr Rija Khanal, who works in the child health sector, and Aastha Koirala, a Speech Pathologist from Nepal who has studied the same in Australia, have some advice about autism.
