Viviana Croccolo, who now lives in Melbourne, was born in Alexandria (Egypt) on June 28, 1933. In 1936 the Croccolo family left Egypt and moved to Italy, where they lived first in Naples and then in Trieste. The family then moved to Lausanne, Switzerland, for three years and then returned to Italy, first to Livorno and then Palermo.

In 1958 Viviana and her sister Adriana boarded the transatlantic "Sydney" of the Lauro fleet and landed in Melbourne on November 30th.

Viviana, with her husband and their son, spent three years in Tom Price, a desert mining town in Western Australia.

Writing is Viviana's passion. She is the author of 3 books, one based on her period in the Australian desert, entitled "Tom Price". She has also written essays, poems and a theatrical story.
