Following Australian National Imams Council's advice for Muslims to pray at home, not all Muslims accept it with open arms. One imam in Sydney explains it.


After the Australian National Council of Imams (ANIC) delivered for Australian Muslims to worship at home - including for Friday prayers, questions arose about the practice of worship.

This suggestion was made after the to be attended by 100 people or more.

SBS Indonesian asked Ustad Amin Hady, an Islamic community leader in Sydney who is also an imam at the Zetland mosque in New South Wales, regarding the matter.

The former imam in Canberra and Tempe said that some Muslims still wants to be able to pray in mosques, especially for Friday prayers because it is obligatory.

Responding to this, Ustad Amin said that Islam as a religion also regulates social relations, including how to maintain good health and relationships so that the lives of people are in line with the regulations set by the government where we live at.
