Residents in Manchester opened up their homes, hotels and services when a bomb went off at Manchester Arena on Monday night at 10.30pm, killing 22 and injuring over 50 people.
Among those who served the victims and those caught in the mayhem, was an Indian-origin taxi driver AJ Singh, who offered free rides on the fateful night.
Mr Singh has now shot to limelight for his generosity.
AJ Singh said he was trying to help out “everywhere I could”.
“I’ve had people who needed to find loved ones, I’ve dropped them off to the hospital, they’re not had any money, they’ve been stranded,” he told Channel 4 News.
“There’s no transport in Manchester, all the roads are closed, it’s really hard to get around.”
The taxi driver won hearts on social media who said in Manchester, when something happens, “we are glue, we stick together when it counts.”
