'Witness to War' National Multilingual Telephone Hotline is Available in Hebrew

(English interview) The NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STRATTS) and The Forum of Australian Services for Survivors of Torture and Trauma (FASSTT) agencies have launched 'Witness to War' a free and confidential multilingual telephone hot-line for people in Australia affected by overseas conflicts. The project is staffed by mental health practitioners and bicultural support workers, and staff can speak Hebrew, English and other languages with an interpreter. 'Witness to War' offers community members incidental counselling, information about available support, and connections to other local services.

Hadas Lev Tov is one of the Witness to War staff who speaks Hebrew. With extensive experience in counselling, she understands many callers' issues. Anyone across Australia can call. There is no restriction on visa type, date of arrival to Australia, country of birth, or age.

This project is provided by eight specialist rehabilitation agencies that work with survivors of torture and trauma who have come to Australia from overseas with more than 30 years of experience working in that field.
