This year for the 9th Greek Australian Short Film Festival is presenting a reformatted combined program of national and international short films.
Reflecting on the past nine years, the GASFF connects and builds a community of great short filmmakers, with the Greek community and to the broader Australian community.
The Greek Australian Short Film Festival (GASFF) began in a Melbourne downtown bar in 2010. It was founded by writer, director and actor Ange Arabatzis and actor, Jim Koutsoukos. Their vision was to showcase up and coming filmmakers who were making short films with Greek connections, with an initial focus on local films.
Since its inception, the Greek Australian Short Film Festival has grown and is now a programming partner of the Greek Film Festival in Australia.
The GASFF screens two programs of short films; national and international in Melbourne and Sydney within the larger Greek Film Festival program. Actor and director Katerina Kotsonis and actor Jim Koutsoukos are the current Artistic Directors of the festival.
