The ‘Roumlouki’ is a historic Macedonian Greek dance performed exclusively by women in traditional costume and headdress, said to have evolved from a famous gift bestowed upon the women of Imathia by none other than Alexander the Great.
The screening, which is in Greek with English subtitles, is approx. 40 minutes and will be followed by a live performance of the ‘Roumlouki’ by the Hellenic Lyceum Sydney.
The screening will be held in the Eastern Avenue Lecture Theatre at the University of Sydney campus and will be completed by 8:30pm. Light refreshments will be served for guests.
