How can ancient Greek thinking shape post-COVID science?

Some of the brightest Greek minds from around the world are joining a virtual symposium hosted by the Greek Scientists Society

  • Emerging technologies and the shaping of a new scientific paradigm in the post-Covid era will be at the heart of discussions
  • Participants will outline how ancient Greek thinking can help to that direction
The event is run under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad of Greece’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.

It takes place this coming Sunday 14 March and will be broadcasted via TV and online.

Titled ‘Discover the way a Greek Scientific Paradigm may evolve for the post-COVID era’, the symposium covers technological and socio-cultural changes  brought by advances in areas including New Data Economy, Digital Transformation, Robotics and  Artificial Intelligence.

The aim is to “explore how the Ancient Greek thinking may assist us to confront “ challenges in the post-pandemic era and “eventually to evolve a Greek Scientific Paradigm.”
More than 20 Greeks from around the word, politicians, scientists, academics and other professionals, have been invited for contributions.

Speakers include, former Greek parliamentarian Ms Anna Diamantopoulou, Professor Stamatios Krimigis - Advisor to Minister of Digital Governance, Greece , Ministry of Digital Governance,  Prof Spyros Artavanis-Tsakonas - Professor Em. of Cell Biology, Harvard Medical School, and Prof Voula Tsouna - Professor of Philosophy Department Chair, University of California, Santa Barbara
