美國警方最近憑著基因族譜學破解了多宗懸案。

雖然警方的犯罪資料庫並沒有這些罪犯的基因存檔，但由於近年很多市民都喜歡探究自己的根，所以曾向一些私人網站提供了自己的基因樣本，警方近年屢破懸案也得靠它。
