Soak these oats the night before, and you can have a creamy, seed and cacao-laced bowl (or jar) of grains ready for breakfast in an instant.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oats
  • 2½ cups almond milk
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 2 tsp cacao nibs
  • dash of cinnamon
Topping (optional)
  • almond milk
  • honey
  • fruit
Soaking time: Overnight

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix together all ingredients. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate overnight.

2. Top with your favourite oatmeal toppings.

Cook's Notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
