Orange licorice tea

An exotic brew that will cleanse and uplift: licorice root soothes the stomach, cinnamon is full of antioxidants, and orange peel is anti-inflammatory and invigorating.

Ingredients

  • 1 licorice root
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cm orange peel
  • 250 ml boiling water
Steeping time: 10 minutes

Instructions

1. Add licorice root, cinnamon stick, and orange peel to boiling water in a heatproof jug and cover.

2. Let steep 10 minutes, then strain and pour into a mug. Reheat if necessary.

Cook's Notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
