The avocado has jumped the shark (that sounds messy)

If you were left shaking your head at the "avolatte" created by a Melbourne cafe this week, then take a deep breath...

Since news that a Melbourne cafe had created the - a coffee in an avocado shell - spread around the world this week, others have been jumping on the avo bandwagon.

, which has outlets in Sydney and Melbourne, has taken the trend to the next level and put a scoop of gelato in a halved avocado.

"Between saving up for a deposit and all those delicious smashed avos and lattes, it's hard to find the cash to squeeze in a gelato these days.. To help us all afford a deposit sooner, we've got this freshly churned coffee gelato in an avocado in the works! ...... BUTTTTTTT until we find the perfect gelato to avocado ratio, we're offering smaller cups starting at $5," the store wrote on Instagram.

"How should we name this - Avolato or Gelacado? Or AvoNONO?"
But they aren't the only ones to jump on the avocado trend.

in Montreal, Canada has dispensed with the avocado shell, and just mixed coffee and avocado together to make an avofrappe.
Instagrammer , who calls himself an unqualified personal trainer and a knowledge-free nutritionist,  has been extolling the virtues of a creation he has called the 'AvoVino' on his tongue-in-cheek account: "Forget the #Avolatte with its milky high calorie count and swap it in for the real best way to start your day with a smile," he writes.

"Filled with polyphenols, red wine is great for your heart - whatever time it is! Combine that with the healthy fats and b-vitamins of an avocado and I wonder why everyone isn't starting their day like this already?"
And then there are those people who are just no longer able to deal with the increasing ridiculousness of the avocado trend.
